Today this made me smile (and giggle a little bit). Enjoy!

A Birthday
We had a birthday this past week in the apartment! Rachael turned the big 22 on Wednesday and we made sure to keep the celebrations going all week long. This girl LOVES Star Wars so naturally we turned our brownie night into Star Wars night on a galaxy far far away!
Wednesday we had a big group meet up at Texas Roadhouse for a delicious birthday dinner and on Thursday morning we took her out for french toast. A tradition we have carried on from last year.
We are sure glad that Rachael became our roommate this year. She is the nicest gal around and she always keeps us laughing! We sure do love you Rach!

A Little Getaway
I love that there is a day dedicated to president's and therefore allowing us to have a long weekend. Breaks never happen at BYU so Lizzy and I decided to take full advantage. We skipped out on a couple days of school and headed to Palm Springs to soak up some sunshine! You know that you have found a best friend when you can spend every day together and still go on a 5 day road trip and never run out of things to talk about or fun to be had!
Our days consisted of morning walks, breakfast, laying by the pool, going out to dinner, shopping and watching movies. It was such a great getaway! Now it's time to get back to the grind...

Blast from the Past
I can't believe it has been 10 years since the Olympics were in Salt Lake. What a great 2 weeks! It was a good thing I was only in 5th grade so missing school wasn't such a big deal. I was able to be a Child of Light for the opening and closing ceremonies and I will never forget dressing up in my little eskimo costume. Last night at the Gallivin Center they had a little party to celebrate the 10 year anniversary.
2 of us showed up to represent!
The most decorated people of the Olympics and my two favorite moms!
My 15 minutes of fame
Olympic athlete from the bobsled team!
Such a great friend to come stand in the cold!
Yes, we are eskimos!
I loved being able to relive my experience from 10 years ago for a few minutes! Let's hope the 2022 bid comes true and we get to see this happen again!

Celebrations
Saturday night Meisha and I had a little date night at Weber State. Our favorite couple, Addison and Bre, were staring in the play Xanadu and of course we had to go see it! We met these two in London and they quickly became our best friends even though they are married. Bre was the leading lady in the play and she totally killed it. We also had the great opportunity of Addison dancing right in front of us. We didn't know he had it in them. They were so great and we loved being able to see them in their element! They are going to be great in the world of musical theater!
As you know it was my mom's birthday a week ago so tonight we were able to go out to dinner and celebrate with her whole family. My mom is one of the most patriotic people I know so I couldn't resist getting her an American flag. You can send a flag request in to your Congressman to fly an American flag over the United States Capitol. Luckily, I am still on good terms with my office so they made sure to have her flag flown on her birthday. You could say the gift was a success...she loved it!

Sister Christensen
You may recognize this girl from my blogging days in London. She was in about every picture I took. Meisha and I became the best of friends rooming in our little 5 by 5 flat together in London. Now she has decided to serve a mission and I could not be happier for her. I traveled to SLC last night to watch her open her call. Almost everyone guessed a state side or visitor's center mission and boy were we surprised when her call read the Philippines, Naga mission!
She is definitely going to stand out in the Philippines! June 6th is going to come quick! Congrats Meisha! You are going to be the best missionary!
xoxo
